Economic impact

Fled Liberia as a refugee at the age of 13 during the First Liberian Civil War, resettling in the United States. Built a commercial real estate portfolio in New Jersey, with total estimated assets reported at approximately US$250 million by 2022, per her public campaign filings and media profiles. Became an IHOP franchise operator in Paterson, New Jersey, subsequently expanding into additional restaurant and hospitality locations. Established the Turning Point Community Center in Paterson, New Jersey, to support low-income residents with employment placement and nutrition programmes. Ran as a Democratic candidate in the 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial primary, one of the first Liberian-American women to seek statewide elective office in the United States.
