Economic impact
Founded BUA Group in Lagos, a diversified manufacturer with principal operations in cement, sugar, flour milling, and port logistics. BUA Cement Plc, listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange since 2020, operates plants at Okpella in Edo State and Kalambaina in Sokoto State with a combined installed capacity of approximately 11 million metric tonnes per year as of 2024, per BUA Cement's 2023 annual report. BUA Foods Plc, separately listed in 2022, processes sugar at its Lafia refinery (capacity approximately 1.5 million metric tonnes per year) and operates wheat mills in Lagos and Port Harcourt with a combined milling capacity of approximately 7,500 metric tonnes per day. The BUA Foundation has funded hospital construction and school renovations across Kano, Kebbi, and Sokoto states.
